2. Laws this policy follows

We handle personal data in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011. We are also aligning our practices with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, as their provisions come into force.

3. What personal data we collect and why

We collect only what we need for the purposes below.

  • Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message, and your mobile number. We use them to read and reply to your enquiry.
  • Booking a session: when you book through our calendar (provided by Calendly), your name, email address, chosen time and anything you add. We use them to schedule and deliver your session and to contact you about it.
  • Calls and emails: whatever you choose to share when you contact us directly. We use it to respond and to provide our services.
  • Blog comments: the name, email address and website you enter, plus your IP address and browser details. We use them to publish your comment and to detect spam.
  • Website usage: technical information such as pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location and IP address, collected through cookies and similar tools including Google Analytics. We use it to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
  • Security and spam protection: Google reCAPTCHA on our forms and Akismet on comments check that submissions come from real people.

Please do not include sensitive details such as passwords, bank or card details or health information in forms or messages.

4. Your consent and how we use your data

When you submit a form, book a session or otherwise give us your details, you agree that we may use them for the purpose that is clear at that point. We use your personal data only for the purposes in section 3, and we do not sell it. Where the law allows us to use data you have voluntarily given us for the purpose you gave it, we also do so on that basis. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see section 9).

5. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers who help us run the website and our services, and only as far as needed:

  • Website hosting and technical service providers.
  • Email delivery services that send messages from our contact form and our replies to you.
  • Calendly, for scheduling sessions.
  • Google, for Google Analytics, reCAPTCHA and related site tools.
  • Automattic, for Akismet spam checking of comments.

We may also disclose personal data where a law, court or government authority requires us to.

6. Transfers outside India

Some of these providers store or process data on servers outside India. They apply their own privacy and security commitments, and we will follow any restrictions on transfers that the Government of India notifies under law.

7. Cookies

Cookies are small files saved on your device. We and third-party tools use them to remember preferences, keep forms secure and measure how the site is used. Cookies may be set by us and by Google (for analytics and reCAPTCHA). If you choose to, the comment form may save your name and email in a cookie for up to a year. Pages may also include content from other websites, such as videos, and those sites may set their own cookies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then not work as expected. To opt out of Google Analytics, you can use Google’s browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

8. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as the law requires. Enquiry and booking records are kept while we are in contact with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted or anonymised. Comments stay on the site until you ask us to remove them.

9. Your rights and how to use them

You can ask us to:

  • give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
  • correct or update data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • erase your data when it is no longer needed;
  • withdraw your consent at any time; and
  • nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to do so yourself.

To make a request, email contact@mybusinesscoach.in with your name and what you would like us to do. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing done before you withdrew, and in some cases we may not be able to provide a service without the data it needs.

10. Children

Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data of anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use reasonable security measures to protect personal data, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and spam protection. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
